Endoscopy

Dr Maiden undertakes diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopies. He is also accredited on the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program. He is also the only gastroenterologist who performs both small bowel capsule endoscopy, colon capsule endoscopy and small bowel enteroscopy in Kent and the South East of England. Please contact us if you require a private endoscopy.

Radiology

We can access the full repertoire of radiology investigations including CT and MRI scans as well as plain x-rays. We also arrange nuclear medicine scans, including SeHCAT (Bile salt) and DEXA (bone density) scans.

Breath Tests

Bloating due to gas accumulation in the GI tract may be due saccharide (sugar) intolerance or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. We can access lactose, frustose and sucrose breath tests (hydrogen and methane) as well as lactulose breath tests for a comprehensive investigation of your symptoms.

Calprotectin, Faecal blood detection and Blood tests

A range of biochemical markers and tests used in conjunction with the history, examination and other investigations can often be employed as surrogate markers of disease activity in order to arrive at the diagnosis.
