Fees for self-funding patients include private en-suite room with meal, nursing care on ward, in endoscopy and in theatre recovery area, endoscopy suite and theatre equipment, sedation and local anaesthetic spray, preparation enema administration, Dr Maiden’s fee, hospital administration. Concessions with private health insurers.
Similar to a colonoscopy but inserted only into the left side of the colon (the rectum, sigmoid and descending colon) to look at the last part of this section of the large bowel. All the equipment is the same but this is usually a quicker procedure only requiring an enema just before the procedure. Sedation can still be administered if requested but this isn’t always required.
